Chapter 15

Eli woke in an awkward position: naked but for his boxers, tucked under Rob’s even more naked form, and totally unable to take advantage and play. Because apparently the cottage didn’t have enough room for many visitors, and so they were sharing the spare room with Danny. And Eli was an exhibitionist, but getting off to the sound of Danny’s snores wasn’t actually part of that.

Sighing, Eli kissed Rob’s neck, and pushed at his side. “C’mon, savage, let go.”

The coaxing did nothing but close the trap further, Rob winding himself around Eli’s torso and hips like a touch-starved octopus. Eli laughed in spite of his semi-urge need to pee.

“Nooo, savage, I need to get up,” he whispered. Rob’s voice rasped something inaudible into Eli’s skin, his stubble scratchy and unyielding. Eli shivered, want prickling under his skin in a wash of heat. “Rob. Off.”

The commanding tone was a little more successful, Rob swearing at him as he let go, and Eli pulled the duvet high over that prone form to shield him from the cold. And it was cold, the bare floorboards freezing against his toes. He stole Rob’s T-shirt from the floor, and tiptoed across the landing into the bathroom to avoid putting more of his skin on the floor than was strictly required.

Peeing was an enormous relief, and Eli rolled his head back in pleasure. It was the little things, like getting to pee when you had to, and wearing a soft cotton shirt smelling entirely of your boyfriend. Eli buried his nose in the fabric and inhaled—and smiled when he heard the distinctive creak of Rob’s footsteps, first in the bedroom, and then on the landing.

Then he went downstairs, and Eli frowned. No bathroom invasion? Seriously? How fucking rude was that? It was Christmas Day!

It wasn’t really on, Eli decided as he dried his hands and zipped back into the bedroom to find pyjama bottoms, so he’d hunt Rob down and issue a correction. Poor idiot clearly hadn’t had many Christmases with a boyfriend. The first thing couples should do on Christmas Day—well, childless ones, anyway—was fuck, in Eli’s opinion.

He sneaked downstairs in pursuit, still on tiptoes, nose still buried in the protective warmth of Rob’s T-shirt, and followed the sound of voices in the kitchen. He paused in the doorway, uncertain, then barrelled ahead, tucking himself under Rob’s arm and kissing his cheek like he was meant to be there.

Stella chortled. “‘E’s a twink, then, your boyfriend?” she asked Rob, who mumbled something incomprehensible and tucked his cheek against Eli’s hair. “Fucking useless, you are. ‘Ere, Eli, ‘e still always this useless first thing in the morning?”

“Usually,” Eli agreed amiably, tucking both arms around Rob’s bare chest. He got something more approaching a hug, and allowed himself to be mollified. “He’s not usually up this early, either.”

“S’your fault, y’moved,” Rob yawned.

“So your Danny told me summat a bit interestin’ last night, ‘bout your Eli,” Stella said. She was making up a baby bottle, but giving Eli a sideways grin that looked almost like a leer.
